ENTERTAINMENT ONE AND SESAME STREET TEAM UP FOR SPECIAL VINYL RELEASE

Entertainment One and Sesame Workshop, the non-profit organization behind Sesame Street, announced today the limited release of Sesame Road, exclusively for Record Store Day 2016 on November 25, 2016. The run of 2,000 pieces will have an SRP of $19.98 and marks the first time the album will be available on vinyl – and in four vibrant colors: red, yellow, blue and green. Sesame Road was first released on cassette by Golden Music in 1993 and on CD by Sony Wonder in 1995.

The cover art of Sesame Road is a parody of the classic Beatles album Abbey Road, and features parodies of tracks such as “Girls Just Want To Have Fun,” “Hey Jude,” “With A Little Help From My Friends,” and “Rebel Yell.” Long-time Sesame Street composers Christopher Cerf, Jeff Moss, and Joe Raposo, contribute songs to the album, which features vocals from Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert, Ernie and many more fuzzy friends from “The Street.”

“Nothing says, ‘the holidays are here’ quite like a Beatles’-related record,” says Michael Kurtz, Co-Founder of Record Store Day. “And for little kids and their parents, nothing says, ‘celebrate life and have fun quite like Sesame Street.' We couldn’t be happier to have this great album come out for our Black Friday celebration.”

“For over four decades, Sesame Street has helped children grow smarter, stronger and kinder by providing meaningful content for families to enjoy together,” says Jennifer A. Perry, VP and Publisher, North America Media Products at Sesame Workshop. “We are thrilled to collaborate with eOne Music to bring these classic songs in a fun format to fans of all ages.”

Election-themed Mainland track, 'Empty Promises'

NYC-based indie rock quartet Mainland blend layer upon layer of rhythmic guitar so seamlessly that it seems that there are more than four people in the band. On their latest single “Empty Promises” they bend a little vintage fuzz, angsty tinges, and intricate drums that slyly build to a compelling crescendo. And fittingly on Election Day, frontman Jordan Topf sings of misplacing trust in people that promise the world with some poignant lyrics that ring truer on this supremely important day.

Bullet For My Valentine reveal new single and video for 'Don't Need You'

Hard rock/metal heavyweights Bullet For My Valentine have released their first single since signing to Search and Destroy / Spinefarm Records.

Titled 'Don't Need You' and produced & mixed by Colin Richardson & Carl Bown, this new offering serves as a sonic statement of intent as the band move into a new phase of an ongoing and truly spectacular career; new label, new music, extensive UK tour... and a crown to defend.

Directed by Ville Jurrikkala (Nightwish, Michael Monroe),'Don't Need You' has been launched with an accompanying video, depicting a wedding born of deceit.

"It's not really a 'doomed' wedding as such... It's really just a take on a concept I had," says frontman Matt Tuck. " There's this beautiful ceremony, and it appears to be all about love and trust, but there's this undercurrent of mistrust and bullshit to go with it. The church we filmed it in is perfect. It's not your typical wedding venue - it's really run-down and dirty. We thought that contrast would be really cool to have with the idea of the video. We wanted it to look really grand and ornate, but underneath it all, it's a bit dirty."

Meanwhile, Bullet For My Valentine are preparing to embark on their UK headline tour, starting with a sold-out show in Newport on November 24th. Across a select number of shows, BFMV will perform their classic 2005 debut album, 'The Poison', from beginning to end. See details below.

Deaf Havana unleash three new tracks | new album "All These Countless Nights" due January 27th, 2017

On Friday, UK band, Deaf Havana launched the US pre-order of their forthcoming album, "All These Countless Nights," due for release January 27, 2017. With the launch of the pre-order, the band are releasing three new tracks - Sing, Cassiopeia and Trigger, available now for download and streaming. Exclusive pre-order album bundles are available at: www.deafhavanaofficial.com and via iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.

2013’s brilliant Old Souls album had successfully catapulted Deaf Havana into the rock big league. It crashed into the Top 10 of the Albums Chart, in the UK, earned rave reviews for its bravura songwriting and saw the band sell out ever bigger venues, appear higher up the bill at festivals and even support James Veck-Gilodi’s hero, Bruce Springsteen.

“It made us feel like a proper band,” says Veck-Gilodi, after Deaf Havana’s many years on the fringes of the scene. “It stepped away from that emo-y world; there were a lot more layers to it and the songwriting was much more mature.” But, behind the scenes, the band were experiencing financial problems and a lack of internal communication that almost broke them. “I was very close to quitting,” says Veck-Gilodi, “basically, I didn’t want to be in the band anymore.”

Veck-Gilodi planned to use the band’s 2014 Reading & Leeds performance to pay off the band’s debts and act as its swansong. But some sideshows reminded him of how much he – and Deaf Havana’s still-burgeoning fanbase – enjoyed his band. A sudden burst of inspired songwriting followed – “It’s probably the most creative I’ve ever been,” he says – but these weren’t just regular DH songs.

New single, ‘Trigger’, followed as James says, “it was one of the few songs where the words just came out of me as I put the pen to paper. It's about me feeling alone in relationships and alone in life, reflecting on all the mistakes and things I had done wrong, yet too idled by laziness to do anything to change them. In the video, Ceci (the actress) represents me, being so close to so many people, yet feeling so far away and essentially remaining alone.”

The song and those that followed demanded that he and his bandmates – singing keys player Max Britton, bassist Lee Wilson, drummer Tom Ogden and Veck-Gilodi’s guitarist brother, Matthew – strike out for new sonic territory.

The end result, Veck-Gilodi declares, is Deaf Havana’s most eclectic and expansive album yet. Having cleared house internally in the months leading up to recording of ‘All These Countless Nights’, taking on new management and signing to a new record label (So Recordings), the band are already benefitting from the “new energy” that brings. They’re communicating better with each other, they’re involved in every aspect of the band’s affairs, and they’re ready for whatever the world of rock wants to throw at them…

“This album needs to take us to a higher level,” asserts Veck-Gilodi. “Not necessarily in terms of chart positions, because I don’t care about that. I just can’t wait for people to hear the album. We appreciate the fact that everyone’s waited this out with us. It’s going to be great.”

IGGY POP Joins HOTEI for New Single/Video "Walking Through The Night"

Japanese superstar HOTEI has just released the video for his new single "Walking Through The Night," which features the iconic IGGY POP on vocals. SPIN premiered the video today here.

The video follows a man’s nocturnal journey through the seedy back streets of Tokyo, lured by the bright lights of temptation. Stunningly filmed and featuring shots of Iggy Pop and footage of Hotei, the video is a gloriously evocative taste of Hotei’s homeland that chimes with the snarling lyrics.

Iggy explains his inspiration for the track; “I tried to put myself on a late night brightly lit Shinjuku street, feeling alone, sexually vulnerable and a little bit angry… a little bit horny…” GUITAR WORLD premiered an exclusive interview of Iggy discussing working with Hotei which can be seen here.

The track is taken from the album Strangers which was released in the U.S. in July 2016 through Spinefarm Records and is Hotei’s first international release. The album features an array of guests including Emigrate/Rammstein’s Richard Z. Kruspe, Bullet For My Valentine’s Matt Tuck, Noko from UK electronic band pioneers Apollo 440, and acclaimed Texan singer Shea Seger, alongside the godfather of punk, Iggy Pop.

"Walking Through The Night" also features long-time live fan favorite "Power" as the B-Side to the release. Only recently recorded for the first time in the studio, "Power" also comes with an accompanying video of him performing the song to a sold-out crowd of 10,000 people at the Yoyogi Gymnasium, Tokyo.

2016 also marks Hotei’s 35th anniversary in music and to celebrate this milestone, Hotei has been touring Japan extensively including over 50 live dates ranging from intimate club shows, to a free open-air concert in his hometown in front of 25,000 fans and will be ending the year with his 31st performance at the Budokan in Tokyo on December 30, with a very special fan request show.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Hotei has been focusing on his international career and this year sold-out his first-ever LA show at the legendary Troubadour, and the Highline Ballroom in New York. He also guested on Italian rock star Zucchero’s latest album and performed with him recently in Verona and at the Royal Albert Hall.

Heralded by Time Out as “iconic”, and a genuine superstar in his native Japan where he has sold more than 40 million records, Hotei is best known internationally for his Kill Bill theme "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" and is sought-after as a collaborator both in the studio and on stage.
