DIAMOND HEAD premiere “All The Reasons You Live” video - UK and Irish tour kicks off this week

NWOBM icons Diamond Head have released a video for All The Reasons You Live, taken from their self-titled album, which was released in March as the follow-up to 2007's What's in Your Head?

"Out of all the tracks on the album this one is my favourite," says guitarist Brian Tatler. "We spent some time searching for the right location and found The Hush House at Bentwaters Parks. It was perfect — it was a military base and just echoed the songs feel." Check out the video HERE.

The album is the first to feature vocalist Rasmus Born Anderson, who joined the band in 2014 to perform in live shows. "I had no interest in doing another record," says Tatler, "but after working with Ras on the 2014 European tour that suddenly changed. I wanted to make a record with him. He’s a confident singer and he’s not trying to fill anyone’s shoes."

Hunter & The Bear Release Video For 'Oh Daisy'

‘Oh Daisy’ is the brilliant new single from Hunter & The Bear, a band currently setting the gold standard of the contemporary UK rock scene. From quality airtime on taste-maker Bob Harris’s BBC Radio 2 show, to an unbeatable slot supporting Eric Clapton on his recent arena tour, the band’s deft employment of hard rock riffs and melodic song-craft has seen them championed by some of the biggest names of the rock and roll canon. One of only a handful of contemporary bands with the requisite musicianship to rejuvenate the UK’s proud heritage of guitar led music, ‘Oh Daisy’ is the latest indication that Hunter & The Bear have not only taken up the baton but have run away with it.

A knockout hit of power and emotion, ‘Oh Daisy’ delivers as much force in its electrifying instrumentation as it does in its anthemic chorus. All the band’s celebrated hallmarks are there: the bold and biting guitar tones; the richly textured harmonies; and of course the epic and soaring melodies that are confidently delivered by front man Will Irvine, a singer who possesses true vocal maturity.

The single resonates with the particular energy of a band who, in true rock and roll fashion, honed their talent on the road. One of the hardest working bands around, Hunter & The Bear have spent most of their time together tirelessly gigging across the country, setting venues alight at each and every stop. Between their acclaimed festival performances at Reading, Leeds, and Loopallu and their sell out ‘Highlands and Islands’ tour, in recent years the band have accumulated a vocal legion of fans that are as enthusiastic as they are loyal.

As much as the band’s roots run deep in the traditions and timbres of rock and country, ‘Oh Daisy’ has all the qualities of a modern classic. Rather than chasing the limelight or aping the latest trends, Hunter & The Bear have found a fresh sound and dedicated following by staying true to great music that inspired them. ‘Oh Daisy’ shows Hunter & The Bear doing what they do best: creating exciting, breathless, organic rock that lights the fire in your belly and stirs the soul.

Live Review: The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain @ Dublin's National Concert Hall; Saturday 10th of Sept 2016

Expect the unexpected they say. Frankly I was not too sure what I had embarked myself on that Saturday evening in Dublin's National Concert Hall... but if there was some music involved - the logic behind I suppose was: why not?

You don’t know The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain? I did not know them either. Not a great start for a music expert when you think, they have played with the Kaiser Chiefs and accompanied Robbie Williams.

8 accomplished musicians and singers whose set list includes covers of classics from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana to Otis Redding and Spaghetti Westerns.

There is a distinct British sense of humor and great sense of comedy all along the two-hour set. It’s captivating, pompous, trivial, hilarious, moving sometimes - a big melting pot of feelings and emotions all at once.

It is often amusing, self-deprecating but virtuosity and musicianship is never too far, whether it was the beautiful cover of Life on Mars from David Bowie, the excellent version of Psycho Killer from the Talking Heads or a version of Smell Like Teen Spirits from Nirvana... and the crowd had the opportunity to sing along Teenage Dirt Bag from Wheatus too.

UOGB is as versatile as the composition of their audience. In my opinion it’s the music equivalent of TinTin. It caters for anybody from 7 to 77 (and beyond). Le Freak was the perfect leg loosener, in the same vein we enjoyed being Happy. And at that point all generations clapped their hands in unison.

I was told they have a great version of 'Shaft' and Clash’s 'Should I stay Or Should I go' and while we did not have the opportunity to listen to those anthems on that Saturday the crowd was all smiles and a little bit sad when we had to say our good byes to our 8 amigos.

The band is 30 years together and have great and loyal followers when I judge by the long queue of fans waiting patiently to get DVDs, CDS and other merchandise items graciously signed.

If you don’t know them. Get on board they are brilliant, next stop Waikiki!!!!!

IN FLAMES announce new drummer

After the departure of their longtime friend and drummer Daniel Svensson, Swedish heavy music institution IN FLAMES sought after a new rhythm master. Their search is now finally over, and the new fifth member of the band is... Joe Rickard! Meet Joe in the latest webisode, in which he speaks about his first meeting with IN FLAMES and gives a little guided tour through the studio where 'Battles' was recorded:

"As you know — our longtime drummer, friend, and brother that is the almighty Daniel Svensson has left IN FLAMES to pursue other dreams. He is still with us in spirit when we write our music, in our lives, and someone whom we will cherish forever. We are truly grateful for the nearly 20 years that Daniel devoted to IN FLAMES", the band states. "Because of each other, we’ve grown exponentially as musicians and brothers. Our 12th studio album is the first we will release without Daniel since 1998, so entering the studio this time around was a bittersweet moment. At the time, we didn’t know who could even replace him, and making new music without him felt strange. We were missing a piece of IN FLAMES."

But, of course, the show must go on and now the band is back with a new man behind the drumkit, who first joined the band while they recorded their upcoming album 'Battles':

"From February to April of 2016 we recorded our newest album, “Battles” with legendary producer, Howard Benson. Howard and his team pushed our boundaries and kept our energy high every day while navigating us through a new process. Suddenly, we felt at home. Howard introduced us to one of his trusted and so talented studio drummers, Joe Rickard. Joe had formerly been a member of Grammy nominated RED, toured with numerous bands such as Islander and RED, and has played drums on many successful albums for artists such as RED, Vamps, Starset, Brian “Head” Welch and our very own “Battles”. Joe had such natural talent behind the kit; it seemed effortless. Once we witnessed him laying down drums to our own songs with parts we couldn’t have imagined better ourselves — we knew we had to have him join IN FLAMES. During nearly two months recording in Los Angeles with Howard Benson, Joe quickly became not only a musician that we highly respected, but also a friend. We are proud and excited to finally announce that Joe Rickard will be taking over the drums for In Flames. We feel by adding such a talented and pure musician to our band and brotherhood that we are doing Daniel a great justice in ensuring his hard work and talent will continue on.

Daniel, thank you for your incredible talent and time dedicated to this band and family that is In Flames. We are so honoured to have had the privilege of playing music with you all of these years and we couldn’t have achieved so much without you. Jesterheads, please welcome JOE RICKARD to IN FLAMES and make him feel welcome! We will see you all out on the road very soon."

Make sure to see Joe live for the very first time on these tour dates: November 6 - Tokyo, Japan @ Knotfest Japan November 12 - Orlando, FL @ Kink Festival
